Since one of our goals at BF Farms, LLC is to produce the maximum amount of quality, grass-fed meat per acre at the minimum cost; the genetics of our cattle must conform to this goal. The Lowline Angus is a breed with traits which, we believe, will help us meet this goal. First, they are smaller in size, which allows more animals per acre. Second, they are extremely easy keeping cattle – they just don’t eat much and still maintain their weight. Third, they are very docile animals, which makes handling them very simple. Fourth, they make good mothers and are fertile. This trait is especially showing up in Lowline composite females. Fifth, they show signs of finishing well on grass.
Since most cattlemen will agree there are more differences in cattle within breeds than between breeds, we knew we had to select Lowlines from the very top of the breed. To accomplish this goal, we have partnered with Wade Coffey of 7C Lowlines to help us purchase the best we can find. In our opinion, Wade has one of the best “eyes” we have seen for finding the right kind of females to meet these goals. This partnership with Wade is producing results.
We strongly recommend that you contact Wade Coffey for your Lowline needs.
